Admissions Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree: Earned from a regionally accredited college or university or an equivalent degree from a comparative foreign institution;
  • No specific undergraduate degree is required;
  • GREs or the GMAT are not required.

Currently Enrolled Master’s Students

If you are currently enrolled at UMBC and interested in applying for this post-baccalaureate certificate, you may apply by filling out an Application for Enrollment in a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program. Certificate Courses and Advance Standing in the LAPT Master’s Degree Program

Certificate courses can be applied to the LAPT Master’s degree. Many students who graduate from the Master’s program often start by taking courses in the certificate program. After a student completes one of the certificate programs, they have already completed 4 of the 10 courses for the Master’s degree.

Application Process:

Your certificate application should include the following documents: (Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.)

  • Completed application for admission and residency forms;
  • Transcripts from undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) institutions (Graduate School requires official copies);
  • Non-refundable application fee ($50 online).

Students who miss the application deadline may still take courses as a non-degree student and apply for formal admission the following semester.
