The National Science Foundation (NSF) Honors UMBC Students and Alumni
Nine UMBC-affiliated STEM students were awarded Graduate Research Fellowships through the National Science Foundation (NSF). The goal of these fellowships is to increase the number of first-generation college students.
UMBC Launches Wisdom Institute
Emeritus faculty and staff will have the opportunity to continue to impact UMBC’s mission and future students by attending workshops, serving as guest lecturers, and offering mentorship through the new Wisdom Institute.
Baja SAE Maryland Competition
UMBC Racing hosted the 2018 Baja SAE Maryland competition on April 19-22. Students tested the limits of single-seat, all-terrain vehicles, attracting teams from across the country and world. The teams tested their vehicles in a series of dynamic events and a final endurance race.
UMBC Hosts Gentrification Discussion Panel
On April 18, community-engaged researchers from UMBC, Morgan State University and the University of Baltimore opened up dialogue on the topic of Redevelopment and Justice in Baltimore.
