UMBC is named one of the region’s Top Workplaces by the Baltimore Sun

The Baltimore Sun recently conducted an independent survey to determine the Top Employers in the region. UMBC landed on that list as one of the top large employers. UMBC’s learning community is rich in diversity and excellence. Some of the top contributing factors to this top spot were things like shared values, meaningful work, and effective management.

U.S. News ranks UMBC’s online master’s in information systems among the best in the nation

UMBC’s online master’s program in information systems prepares students to enter fields such as cybersecurity specialists, data analysts, systems administrators, and more. US News just recognized this online master’s program as one of the leading ones on its 2023 Best Online Master’s in Information Technology.

Improving Food System Resilience and Decreasing Disaster-Induced Food Insecurity | NSF Awards UMBC’s Lauren Clay with a Grant

Pandemics, disasters, and other unfortunate circumstances can wreak havoc on those who struggle with food insecurities. Building resiliency through improved food systems is one of the goals of Lauren Clay from UMBC. The NSF recently awarded her with a $624K Convergence Accelerator grant to address food insecurity issues in disasters.

Parapsychology Foundations Gifts More than 12,000 Volumes to UMBC’s Special Collections 

The Eileen J. Garrett Parapsychology Foundation Collection contains more than 12,000 volumes and more than 100 periodicals, including rare books on and early journals devoted to psychical research. The collection emphasizes the literature of contemporary parapsychology and those publications that approach the subject from objective and analytical points of view.
