New Drug May Slow Onset of Type 1 Diabetes
Those at high risk for developing Type 1 Diabetes could end up with a new preventative tool that may help delay the onset of the disease. A new drug, Teplizumab, was tested by a team led by Dr. Kevan C. Herold at Yale University and shows great promise. NIH’s National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) supported the work of this team. More research is in store for this drug to ensure its safety and effectiveness.
